NewmarketPlus 2009 was a successful conference with many opportunities for customers and prospects to meet with Newmarket International representatives and partner sponsors, learn more about the products they are using, and network with fellow hospitality peers.
Sean O’Neill, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Newmarket International, kicked off the conference on Wednesday morning with his opening keynote, providing information on the state of the current marketplace, encouraging attendees to fully understand their business, and prepare for the future with new tactics and strategies.
Shawn McGowan, Senior Vice President Product Development and Support of Newmarket International, delivered an insightful presentation with information about the people behind the Newmarket International name, insight into the future of Get Group Business, and announced our new partnership with Dun & Bradstreet which will deliver the solution you need for improved account hygiene.
Over 45 breakout sessions were presented with information provided to help attendees become more proficient with their Newmarket solutions, understand what tools are available to them, and implement best practices for measurable enhancements. Industry speakers presented engaging topics such as Insight from a Meeting Planner, Technology Trends Impacting the Hospitality Industry Today, and Sales & Marketing Best Practices in a Tough Economy.
Attendees could also meet with 14 event sponsors in our Partner Pavilion to learn about best of breed solutions that integrate with Newmarket products, providing your property with a connected enterprise. Attendees who spoke with all sponsors were entered into drawings for new FLIP digital video cameras.
Plenty of networking opportunities were provided with unprecedented access to our partner sponsors, Newmarket representatives, and fellow hospitality peers. Individuals that participated in the Welcome Reception, Customer Appreciation Event, Birds of a Feather, and other networking opportunities enjoyed fine food, drink, and conversations.
Brand new this year, over 20 individuals participated in private consultation sessions with Rod Rodeman, Newmarket’s reporting expert. These one hour discussions provided the opportunity to discuss an organization’s business processes and needs and create a strategy to accurately and efficiently report on the data in their Newmarket solutions. Based on the feedback on these sessions, you can expect to see these consultations expanded in future conferences!
For 30 individuals, the education continued through Saturday with post-conference certification courses. These sessions included the Certified Newmarket Systems Analyst (CNSA) course that was presented in 2008 as well as the inaugural presentations of our Certified Delphi Sales Professional (CDSP) and Certified Daylight Key Operator (CDKO) courses. Congratulations to those who participated in the courses and earned the designations.
We hope that you can join us in 2010! Watch your email and check back on our NewmarketPLUS conference home page for more information regarding location and dates.
